The Broncos needed to win to jump the Warriors into fourth spot and Maguire was not happy at the major break, launching a heated spray at his players with Brisbane leading 22-18 after a first half shootout.
Hunt was at a loss as to how to water down his coach’s comments for TV, but said the players knew what was coming in the sheds.

“I don’t know if there is a PG version for what was said at half-time,” Hunt told Fox League.
“You would have to put a lot of beeping in there to block it out, but we knew going in he wasn’t going to be happy.
“He has actually been pretty tame this year, but he definitely got worked up on that one.”
Broncos hooker Walters admitted he was in close proximity to Maguire during his half-time tirade, but backed his coach’s right to do it.
“I had to get the hand towel out and wipe my face down,” Walters said.
“There was a bit of water spray there, but he was all right. It wasn’t good enough that first half. We kept them in the game and it probably warranted a spray.
“We didn’t work as well as we would have liked and we didn’t come out in the second half as we wanted to but we got the job done.”

Braith Anasta pressed Maguire on his half-time antics post match.
“You’re into the top four although it was a bit of a rollercoaster and we saw you firing up a bit at half-time,” Anasta said.
“You must be pretty relieved you got the win in that one.”
“You definitely caught me out there,” Maguire replied.
“I don’t do it very often these days, but I thought the way the game was going, we were playing a bit of tit for tat, they score then we score.
“Obviously you are working pretty hard at both sides of the ball, but I thought the Cowboys were going to come out and play.

“They are a team that can score and because it was their last game they were going to throw the ball around.”
Anasta persisted as Maguire danced around the repeated line of questioning.
“There is nothing wrong with a bit of motivation at half-time, can you just give us a little bit of insight into what you said at half-time,” Anasta said.
“Look I was just talking about we have got to play our style,” Maguire said.
“We have been working really hard for a couple of months to find how the Broncos want to play and that is using the ball.
“But you have also got to respect it at times and we probably just pushed it a little bit here and there.
“The players were speaking about that, but then we have got to back it up and I thought we were a little bit off there, but they challenged us well.”
