The Canberra Raiders have confirmed the re-signing of key forward Zac Hosking on a new deal, which will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2028 season.
Already under contract until the end of 2026, the two-year extension keeps Hosking in Canberra for a further three seasons.
Hosking said it was an easy decision to continue his career with Canberra and was looking forward to what lies ahead for the club.
“Yeah, it is exciting, when the club approached me about it I was obviously very excited and was keen to go in that direction for my future,” Hosking said.
“It’s a very bright future here at the club at the moment, so I’m just excited to be a part of it.”
2025 has been a big year so far for Hosking, who has played in thirteen matches to date. He said he’s enjoying the opportunity to be part of the team after an interrupted first season at the club in 2024.

“I’ve been really happy, and although I’ve had some adversity through my own injuries last year, I’ve come out the other side of that now and I’m happy to be stringing games of footy together, and obviously I’m happy with the reward because of that,” he said.
Hosking said the way in which the club was securing their stars for the future is something he wanted to be a part of, and said the squad had a great mix of players now and for the future.
“I think it’s a massive testament to the club to be able to retain the best young talent in the comp,” he said.

“There’s also some key guys who are a bit older in the squad like myself, Taps (Tapine), Hudson (Young) and Tom Starling who just re-signed as well. It’s a great mix of youth and experience, and I think we’re showing how it’s a great connection.”
Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart said the re-signing of Hosking was a great example of a player coming to Canberra for an opportunity and being able to build into some career-best form.

“Zac came to the club looking for a chance to be a regular NRL player, and he’s shown us that’s exactly what he is,” Stuart said.
“He’s a hardworking and skilful player who can cover a number of positions for us, and we’re really happy to have him as part of the squad for the next three years.”
